The Position
The School of Professional Accounting (SOPA) is looking for Assistant Lecturers to join the Undergraduate BCom in Accounting team.
We are looking for motivated and academically strong individuals who are passionate about education, student support, and the accounting profession. Successful candidates will join a growing and innovative academic team responsible for supporting delivery across the BCom in Accounting programme.
Positions are available across the following themes within the programme:
- Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Analysis & Decision-Making
- Strategy & Leadership
- Risk & Governance
Successful candidates will work closely with Academic Owners, Theme Leaders, and the Head of Department to support the delivery and administration of modules while contributing to a positive and engaging online learning experience aligned to Milpark’s values and teaching philosophy.
The role includes:
- Delivery and facilitation of group live online sessions
- Student consultations and support
- Responding to student academic queries
- Assessment setting, development and moderation
- Assistance with academic and module-related administration
- Assessment marking and administration
- Supporting online student engagement and community development
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of learning materials and assessments
The exact responsibilities allocated to each Assistant Lecturer will depend on the needs of the relevant module and theme team.
This role is well suited to recently qualified or early-career professionals who are passionate about education, student development, and the accounting profession. Previous lecturing experience is not required, as support, mentorship, and development will be provided within the team.
Staff will be based remotely and are therefore required to have a suitable working environment and reliable internet access. Travel to Cape Town may also be required for team meetings twice a year. This is a full-time remote role within a collaborative and fast-paced academic environment.

Education & Experience Requirements
- Successful completion of a postgraduate Accounting qualification (CTA, PGDA, Honours, or equivalent) will be advantageous.
- Completed and signed off SAICA articles at a SAICA registered training office.
- OR progress towards or completion of a professional qualification pathway (SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA, ACCA, etc.).
- A track record of above average academic performance.
