Our client in Stellenbosch is seeking passionate, driven educators to join as a Lecturer in Introduction to Business Law. Duties & Responsibilities

  • The module introduces students to foundational principles of commercial and business law relevant to organisational and workplace environments.
  • Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate interactive learning sessions in both in-person and online environments
  • Develop and update module content to ensure alignment with academic standards and industry best practices
  • Design, administer, and grade assessments in line with institutional guidelines
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student development and academic success
  • Guide students in applying people management principles to real-world workplace scenarios
  • Monitor student progress and identify learners requiring additional academic support
  • Facilitate discussions that encourage critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and practical problem-solving
  • Maintain accurate academic records, including attendance, assessment results, and learner performance reports
  • Participate in curriculum development, moderation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support academic quality assurance processes and institutional accreditation requirements
  • Actively contribute to a positive learning environment aligned with the institution’s values and ethos
  • Mentor and advise students on academic and professional development pathways
  • Stay current with developments in human resource management, organisational behaviour, and higher education practices
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative teams to ensure effective programme delivery

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • A completed degree (NQF Level 7 or above) in:
    • Commercial Law
    • Business Law
    • Mercantile Law
    • Or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a recognised higher education institution
  • Demonstrated competence in:
    • Assessment design
    • Undergraduate teaching and facilitation
    • Academic feedback and moderation practices
    • Evidence of scholarly engagement or ongoing professional development
  • Preferred Attributes
    • Legal or commercial industry experience
    • Familiarity with South African business and labour law contexts
    • Experience in blended learning delivery
    • Strong student engagement and facilitation abilities
    • Ability to mentor and support students in a Christian higher education context
