Our client in the Higher Education and Training Sector is currently looking to employ an experienced Lecturer : Education Foundation Phase to join their team based in Port Elizabeth.

Requirements

  • Honours Degree (essential)

  • Master’s Degree or studying towards a Master’s (advantageous)

  • 2–3 years lecturing experience

  • Experience teaching Education modules at tertiary level

  • Experience in Foundation Phase teaching (all subjects)

  • Exposure to research activities, conferences, or academic publications advantageous

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management ability

  • Proven ability to teach effectively using reflective practices

  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work proactively and independently

  • Passion for student engagement and customer service

  • Experience using technology to enhance learning advantageous

Responsibilities

Lecturing and Academic Delivery

  • Lecture across relevant programmes and delivery modes.

  • Conduct assessments, marking, and provide constructive student feedback.

  • Moderate assessment scripts where required.

Lecturer Development and Support

  • Support lecturer development initiatives including peer reviews and workshops.

  • Assist with planning and running student and lecturer initiatives.

Student Development and Support

  • Lead and manage academic development and support for students.

  • Monitor student performance and implement intervention strategies where needed.

Research and Scholarship

  • Promote a culture of academic research and scholarship.

  • Contribute towards achieving institutional research output targets.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
