We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Instructional Designer to establish and lead the development of digital learning content within our organisation. As this is a newly created role, the successful candidate will play a key part in shaping our digital learning strategy, building content from the ground up, and implementing effective processes and standards for content creation.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing engaging learning experiences that enhance learner understanding and retention, while ensuring alignment with organisational goals and industry best practices.

This role requires a creative thinker with a strong understanding of instructional design principles, digital learning tools, and the ability to collaborate across departments

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Instructional Design
  • Design and develop engaging, outcomes-based learning content for digital and blended delivery.
  • Create storyboards, course structures, assessments, and supporting materials aligned to adult learning principles.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex information into clear, structured learning experiences.
  • Contribute to the development of frameworks, standards, and best practices for digital learning content.

Strategy & Implementation
  • Assist in establishing workflows and processes for content development and review.
  • Participate in the selection and implementation of e-learning platforms and tools.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align learning content with organisational goals.

Requirements
Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Multimedia Design, Information Design, or a related field.

Experience
  • 3–5 years’ experience in instructional design roles.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing eLearning content.
  • Proficiency in eLearning tools (e.g. Articulate, Captivate, LMS platforms).
  • Solid understanding of adult learning theory and digital pedagogy.

Key Competencies
  • Strong understanding of instructional design models and adult learning principles.
  • Ability to simplify complex information into engaging, easy-to-understand content.
  • Strong communication, time management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Comfortable working in a growing environment and contributing to new systems and processes.
