Job Summary

The Head of School (HOS) is a senior management position for a passionate, driven, motivated, dogged and disciplined individual. The role requires the job holder to provide direction and leadership for the academic function in order to ensure the highest quality education and improved standards of learning and achievement. The job holder will be primarily responsible for effectively communicating and executing the school’s vision and mission and translating it into academic success.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • Experienced School Leader with at least 5 years of leadership experience at a high standard international school where a hybrid curriculum is in use - Nigerian and Cambridge (at least at Assistant Headteacher, Vice-Principal (Academics), Deputy Head or Director of Studies level).
  • Qualified teacher with 15 years plus teaching experience (10 of which must be at Primary School level) and 3 years’ experience working in a Montessori setting.
  • Minimum of a Post-Graduate Degree and recognised Teacher Training Qualification with knowledge of Montessori philosophy strongly preferred.
  • At least 5 years administrative experience in an educational setting with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Recent involvement and experience in Special Education Needs and Inclusion.
  • TRCN – Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.
  • A Master’s degree in Education or a related field (Doctorate preferred).
  • Relevant certifications in instructional coaching, school leadership, administration, etc., would be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of educational trends, best practices, and innovative teaching methods.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing teacher appraisal systems, rubric-based lesson observations, and data-driven school improvement plans.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, parents, and the community.
  • Visionary leadership with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Exceptional organisational and decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and financial management.
  • A commitment to promoting academic excellence, equity, and the overall well-being of students.

Salary & BenefitsN1,000,000 monthly gross (point on scale determined by skills, knowledge and experience).
