- A Master of Social Work degree specialising in Forensic Practice (NQF level 9).
- Provide proof of application in specialty as Forensic Social Worker at SACSSP.
- Registration with SACSSP.
In addition to the above:
Lecturer:
- A minimum of three (3) years’ generic Forensic practice experience, including direct Forensic Social Work practice and/or Forensic Social Work supervisory/ managerial, proof of Forensic Social Work Assessment and expert witnessing in court.
Senior Lecturer:
- A minimum of two (2) years’ teaching and learning - blended contact sessions with university students.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ research and innovation experience with at least two publications and supervision of post graduate students towards graduation.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ generic Forensic practice experience, including direct Forensic Social Work practice and/or Forensic Social Work supervisory/ managerial, proof of Forensic Social Work Assessment and expert witnessing in court.
ADDED ADVANTAGES:
- A PhD in Forensic Practice (NQF Level 10).
- A minimum of one (1) year teaching and learning experience - blended contact sessions with university students (Lecturer).
- Membership of appropriate academic and professional networks.
- Appropriate academic and professional networks/societies.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Ability and experience to work from an evidence-based approach in social work.
- Excellent communication skills (verbally and written).
- Demonstration of language proficiency to function optimally in the various multilingual environments of the NWU.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft office, e-mails, power point, software for data analysis).
BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to use e-media for teaching, studying and communication.
- Professional work ethic.
- The ability to work well independently as well as in a team.
- Good time management and ability to work well under pressure.
REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
