§ An LL M (NQF level 9) in any field of law.
§ A minimum of 2 years’ experience in academia.
RECOMMENDATION / ADDED ADVANTAGE:
§ An LL D in any field in law or a PhD/DPhil in Law (NQF level 10).
§ Admission as an attorney or an advocate and experience in legal practice.
§ Publications in accredited journals.
§ Proven record of effective post-graduate supervision.
§ Professional membership.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
§ Preference will be given to candidates with expertise concerning teaching-learning and research in any of the following subject fields: Constitutional Law, Tax Law, Law of Insolvency, and Law of Delict. However, candidates with expertise in any other legal field will be considered.
§ Legal language skills and excellent writing skills.
§ Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), as well as email, Internet, and the electronic retrieval of legal sources.
§ Experience or interest in curriculum design and development.
§ Ability to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students and a strong interest in research.
§ Adaptability and agility.
BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
§ Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
§ Language skills in order to function optimally in the different multilingual environments of the NWU.
§ Good interpersonal relations.
§ The ability to work with large groups of people.
§ The ability to accommodate multiculturalism and work in a diverse environment.
REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
